This page contains tutorials and the documentation for Cacatoo, a javascript library that makes building spatially structured models of biology easy! The simulation you see below is fully interactive, making it much easier to explore and try different parameters. If you've worked with similar models, you'll have no trouble getting started right away. If not, this manual will explain everything you need to know. After you've read through this manual, you'll have no issue starting to build simple models yourself. To get started, use the menu to see more examples and step-by-step tutorials!
What's possible with Cacatoo:
- Explore simple grid-based simulations with minimal effort. Adding UI elements and graphs is easy! (see interactive example below)
- Build classical cellular automata like Conway's Game of Life
- Explore flocking behaviour in continuous space (and let these flocks interact with a grid!)
- Build other types of (simple) physics simulations
